Village Alley [painting]

Here's the painting for the value-sketch I had posted last week.
This is a scene from a small village adjoining my home in Hubli.
The house in the foreground had an eerie bright blue colour which I omitted conveniently to avoid distraction.
Added a couple of people, pots and a dog for some interest.

hope you enjoy this.

  1. Hi Praveen,

The village alley looks like we can go in to the "galli" and snoop around, very nicely done. The right number of elements included.. however, I would not have missed out on the blu house.. I would have loved to retain the blue color and called the painting " The blue attracttion" :-)

  2. PC,
It looks good and sunny. I dont know how it would have looked with the blue color, but this surely looks good.

  3. Love the light filled scenery --nice touch with the dog :) May be you can paint another with the blue house just to check -- and being an artist gives you the license to change the shade of blue to your liking :)

  4. Padmaja,

    Thanks for your comment.

I thought the scene has a bright alley that leads one's eye naturally along the path. The blue was seemingly disturbing this. So I avoided it.

Yes, I will try the blue version sometime and post it.

  7. Thanks Manju,
Monitors are not calibrated and hence colours may look different. The actual painting looks better in terms of hues.
